§ 1 · The risk in the conversation

In a meeting, you can't turn back the page.

In a translated document, a mistake shows up in review. In a conversation, it slips through and becomes a decision.

  1. 01The technical termAn industry word no one at the table knows how to translate.
  2. 02The pauseThe conversation stalls and the negotiation loses its rhythm.
  3. 03The misunderstandingEach side leaves the meeting with its own version of what was agreed.
  4. 04The reworkAnother meeting, another email, another round to undo the mistake.

With Zetta, the interpreter arrives with a briefing, a glossary for the subject and the same confidentiality as our documents.

§ 2 · Interpreting modes

The right format for every kind of meeting.

Not sure which one to choose? Select "I'd like guidance" in your request and we'll recommend one.

Simultaneous

Conferences and events

The interpreter speaks at the same time as the speaker. For larger audiences, we assess with you whether a booth and headsets are needed.

Consecutive

Meetings and technical visits

The speaker talks, pauses, and the interpreter conveys the message. For negotiations, interviews, audits and plant visits.

Escort

Delegations and trade fairs

The interpreter follows the group's schedule: trade missions, fairs, business trips and hosting foreign visitors.

Sworn

Notary acts, weddings and hearings

Acts in Brazil that require an interpreter with legal validity, such as a marriage with a foreign national and powers of attorney executed at a notary office (cartório).

§ 5 · Frequently asked questions

Before you request

How far in advance should I ask?

The sooner, the better: events with simultaneous interpreting and less common languages need more preparation. Last-minute requests are also considered.

What's the difference between simultaneous and consecutive?

In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter speaks at the same time as the speaker, usually with headsets for the audience. In consecutive interpreting, the speaker pauses and the interpreter conveys each segment. Meetings and visits usually work well with consecutive.

When do I need a sworn interpreter?

For acts in Brazil that require legal validity, such as a marriage with a foreign national who doesn't speak Portuguese, and deeds or powers of attorney executed at a Brazilian notary office (cartório). If in doubt, select "I'd like guidance".

Do you cover remote events?

Yes. Interpreting can be done by video conference, on the platform you already use.

Which languages do you cover?

The main ones are Portuguese, English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Mandarin. For other languages, we check our pool of experts: select "Other language" in your request and tell us which one.
